Best Destiny 2 Titan Builds: The strongest loadouts right now including Strand
Destiny 2 Season of the Wish is about to come to an end and The Final Shape is knocking on the doors. There are a few powerful meta builds for Titans that you must get ready before The Final Shape launches. Here is a detailed guide on the builds that you must have if you are a Titan player.
Buildcrafting has seen a full revamp with the release of Destiny 2: Lightfall. There has been several rebalances of mods to get your head around, and for Titans, it’s understandable if you want to know how to get out there and punch things as many things as possible.
While buildcrafting is much friendlier now, there’s still a lot to learn (or relearn), especially if you are a returning player looking to get ready before The Final Shape. If you’re feeling a little lost with what is doing best in Destiny 2 right now, let us help.
If you’re a Titan, we’ve got two builds for you to try out in-game. One of these makes you exceedingly hard to kill, while the other might just be the most fun build in the game.
If you want to harness the power of melee attacks, we have you covered. Here are our favorite Destiny 2 Titan builds, including one for Strand, as you’ll undoubtedly want to play with the new subclass.

Best Titan Strand Synthoceps build
Strand has been a wonderful addition to Destiny 2, and it’s seeing a lot of utility hidden away in all of its Fragments and Aspects. While Warlocks have a ridiculously powerful Strand build set around Necrotic Grips, this Titan Strand build might be my favorite in all of Destiny 2: Lightfall.
However, the build for Titan revolves around survivability and damage. With this build, you will create Tangles, activate Woven Mail, and crush enemies with your melee ability. This build works against both champions as well as bosses since Sythoceps further enhances the damage output of melee and super abilities in addition to the buffs from the aspects.
You can use this build in every scenario within the game and will reap the rewards without facing any downsides.
Titan Strand abilities, Aspects and Fragments
- Class ability: Rally Barricade
- Jump: Catapult Lift
- Melee: Frenzied Blade
- Grenade: Grapple
Aspects
- Into the Fray: Enhance your armor with Woven Mail. Increase your melee regeneration. Destroying a Tangle or casting your Super grants Woven Mail for nearby allies.
- Banner of War: Defeating a target with a melee ability or upon casting a finisher, you will activate Banner of War. This will create an area of influence around you that will heal you and your allies. You also gain enhanced melee and sword damage while Banner of War is active. The more enemies you defeat, the stronger this aspect becomes, making you immortal.
Fragments
- Thread of Transmutation: You will create a tangle whenever defeat an enemy with a weapon while Woven Mail is active. (Strength +10)
- Thread of Fury: You gain melee energy upon defeating targets with Tangle (Strength -10)
- Thread of Propagation: Gain Unraveling rounds for your weapon upon defeating enemies with powered melee final blows.
- Thread of Warding: Gain Woven Mail upon picking up an Orb of Power (Resilience -10)
Titan Strand Weapons and Exotic
- Primary: In the primary slot you should be using a Shotgun with One Two Punch for even more melee damage. The best shotgun to use here is the Wastelander M5.
- Secondary: Your choice. However, we will recommend a weapon that will help you with the ad-clear. You can go for The Recluse SMG as that will help you deal with minor enemies quite efficiently.
- Heavy: In the Heavy slot you need to use Tractor Cannon. This is because, the debuff from the Tractor Cannon will enhance the damage output from your melee ability, which will be beneficial against champions, dungeon bosses, and mini-bosses.

Titan Strand Stat Priority
Resilience, despite getting nerfed in Lightfall, remains a very important stat. It might be what you want to build into here, but that being said, you will have Woven Mail up constantly which will give you absurd damage reduction.
After that, Discipline is probably what you want to hit. Mods like Bomber and Grenade Kickstart will help you recover your Grenade ability faster. The Grapple will help you run out of sticky situations or use it as a means to engage with the enemy. Recovery is also a good stat to build into so when you do need to get some health back, it’s as fast as possible.
Titan Strand Build: How to use
The key to this build is to keep Banner of War active at all times. You need to make sure that you keep defeating basic enemies from time to time, charge up your Banner of War, and then engage with your melee ability and your shotgun. The rotation for this build is as follows:
- Grapple into an enemy (especially one surrounded by many enemies)
- You use melee at the end of a swing to activate Banner of War
- Defeat as many basic enemies as possible to charge up the Banner of War
- Pick up a Tangle and throw it at yourself to gain Woven Mail
- Use your Tractor Cannon to Debuff an enemy
- Shoot the enemy with your One Two Punch shotgun
- Use you melee ability to deal massive damage to the enemy
- Repeat
You need to ensure that your powered melee ability is active as much as possible. If you have no melee energy, you will lose out on a lot of damage. Therefore, keep defeating smaller enemies with your Tangle to activate Thread of Fury. The key is to throw the Tangle at your feet, but in between enemies to get access to Woven Mail while also activating the aforementioned Fragment.
Titan Solar Pyrogale Gauntlet Build
Solar Titan has always been strong, ever since the rework to this particular subclass. Back in the day, the Loreley Splendor Helmet used to be broken with massive survivability. In addition to that, players could use Throwing Hammer for damage, turning Solar Titan into a one-man army.
However, Loreley was nerfed and so was the throwing hammer. Hence, the Loreley Splendor has been replaced by something even stronger. The Solar Titan build with the Pyrogale Gauntlet is not very different from Hunter’s Celestial Knighthawk.
In principle, the build functions similarly as it modifies Burning Maul into a one-shot damage slam. This particular build works in a wide variety of situations, especially against bosses and high-end content.
Titan Solar abilities, Aspects and Fragments
- Class ability: Rally Barricade
- Jump: Catapult Lift
- Melee: Throwing Hammer
- Grenade: Healing Grenade
- Ultimate: Burning Maul
Aspects
- Sol Invictus: Solar ability final blows, Hammer of Sol impacts, and defeating scorched targets creates Sunspots. Your abilities regenerate faster, and your Super drains more slowly while standing in a Sunspot. Sunspots apply Scorch and deal damage to targets inside. Entering a Sunspot applies Restoration.
- Consecration: Whenever you slide, you can activate your charged melee ability to release a wave of Solar energy. This will scorch targets in front of you and deal massive damage. While you are airborne, you can slam to the ground and create an even stronger wave of Solar energy. This new wave will Ignite all scorched targets.
Fragments
- Ember of Ashes: Apply more scorch stacks to targets
- Ember of Empyrean: Solar weapon and ability final blows will extend the duration of radiant and restoration. (Resilience -10)
- Ember of Wonder: Rapid kills with Solar Ignitions grant you Orb of Power (Resilience +10)
- Ember of Searing: Scorch target defeats grant melee energy and Firesprites (Recovery +10)
Solar Titan Weapons and Exotic
- Kinetic: You can go for anything you want, but a special weapon will be the best possible choice. The Mountaintop, Heritage, or Succession will be the best weapons to choose in this slot.
- Energy: In the Energy Slot you need a powerful Solar primary weapon. The most optimal choice here is Sunshot as your ad-clear is enhanced significantly while having access to the benefits of Ignite and Scorch.
- Heavy: Your choice. It would be best if you went for a powerful damage-dealing heavy weapon here as this build is meant to be used against bosses. A god roll Edge Transit or Apex Predator will be the best choices.

Solar Titan Stat Priority
Resilience should be your priority here. Solar Titans are known for their survivability and we want to ensure that aspect remains strong.
While the Melee is an important aspect here, we will forgo Strength – as long as you don’t lose your Throwing Hammer when you launch it, you get it back instantly by walking over it again. Instead, we’d build into Discipline for better grenade generation, or Recovery for those rare moments when you need to get your health back.
Solar Titan Build: How to use
This is a fairly easy build to execute, as the idea is to use your Burning Maul to deal massive amounts of damage to the boss. Additionally, you will create Sunspots that will enhance your survivability while you will scorch targets and ignite them with your solar weapons and abilities.
The rotation goes like this:
- Use Burning Maul to deal massive damage to enemies
- Get back to your team while sliding
- Activate Consecration to take care of ads around you
- Pop your Rally Barricade to assist your team
- Stand in the Sunspots to ensure survivability while using your Heavy ammo to deal damage
That’s it. One of the most interesting aspects to note here is that whenever you use Consecration, you will automatically activate Sunspots. Therefore, you do not need to use your Hammer ability as often. The Throwing Hammer can be used to deal final blows to yellow bar enemies in case it is necessary or if you are in urgent need of sunspots.
That’s everything you need to know about the best Titan Builds out there. There are, of course, near-infinite combinations to be found in Destiny, but hopefully, this has given you a good starting point. Now get out there and beat back the forces of The Darkness… just with a little more synergy now.
