Logan Paul’s next challenger for the WWE United States Championship will likely be a beloved SmackDown superstar

Coming off an awe-inspiring performance at King and Queen of the Ring against Cody Rhodes, Logan Paul’s next opponent already feels like a lock.

Paul fought for gold in Saudi Arabia for the third time on May 25, with his previous battles against Roman Reigns and Rey Mysterio preceding the bout vs Rhodes.

Against Reigns, in only his third official match, Paul fell just shy of taking the WWE Universal Championship from ‘The Tribal Chief’ at Crown Jewel 2022.

However, while fighting Mysterio in Nov. 2023, ‘The Maverick’ emerged victorious and claimed the prestigious WWE United States Championship.

The most recent affair vs Rhodes was perhaps the best we’ve ever seen Paul look in a WWE ring. His athleticism and creativity radiated through the TV screen.

Alas, even with some tricks up his sleeve, Paul couldn’t conquer the beast known as ‘The American Nightmare,’ dropping a tightly-contested match and falling short again.

But Paul built positive momentum even in defeat. He still holds the US strap, and his next opponent will be trying to rip it away.

Logan Paul’s next fight: WWE teases LA Knight feud

On the May 17 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, LA Knight came face to face with Logan Paul backstage, but nothing came of the exchange.

SmackDown GM Nick Aldis interrupted just as it appeared Knight was about to rip into Paul and throw down a challenge for the US belt.

It was a clear nod to Paul’s next WWE feud, which should see the villainous heel pitted against arguably the biggest babyface in the entire company.

The bad blood runs deeper than the May 17 altercation, as Knight has routinely taken shots at Paul since the social media star became a professional wrestler.

At last year’s Money in the Bank ladder match, which both Paul and Knight were a part of, the latter didn’t mince any words regarding his thoughts on the US champion.

“I see a guy who makes videos for 14-year-old girls and wants to call himself a megastar,” Knight said.

Knight even threw shade at Paul’s Prime Hydration beverage line in the same promo.

“I tell you what, Logan Paul, I brought you a little gift. It’s a map. If you follow this, you’ll find the exact directions of where you can stick each and every one of those bottles of Prime.”

The disdain is apparent, and given the teaser that WWE gave fans, we expect a championship match featuring Paul and Knight to come at Clash of the Castle or Money in the Bank.

Paul gets a chance to extend his US title reign and serves as the perfect “bad guy” foil to the beloved Knight, who is seeking his first taste of WWE gold.
